Heroes Episode 6 - Better Halves
As Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and Isaac (Santiago Cabrera) puzzle over their paintings in an effort to discover the identity of the cheerleader, Hiro (Masi Oka) calls Isaac. Peter gives him the message to save the girl, save the world. Through Ando (James Kyson Lee), they tell him about Peter’s visit from future Hiro, who is extremely intrigued.
Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is returning to India to scatter the ashes of his father. Saying his work is done and he will go back to his normal life teaching. An intimate moment transcends from Eden who gives him indication of a special connection.
At the very end of last episode we saw hidden in the shadows D.L. Hawkins (Leonard Roberts), Niki’s criminal ex husband. We get to see much more of him in the following sequences. Another big turn is how Niki’s alter ego starts to take on a deeper role of evil..
As Claire (Hayden Panettiere) is introduced to her biological birth parents, it appears her father Horned Rim Glasses (Jack Coleman) has orchestrated the meeting for his own agenda. As suspected, the meeting goes fairly well, but we later find out that Claire’s supposed parents are just simple workers for her father. More importantly, HRG has a connection to another minor character which is likely to cause problems for our heroes down the line.
Once again, Hiro and Endo are abducted by Vegas high rollers who suspect they cheated at the tables somehow and wants to cash back in. After several hands are played, our heroes make an escape for the bathrooms but are surprised by ruckus coming from the high rollers in the other room. Apparently something terrible is happening.
Like a puzzle with a million pieces, the storylines in Heroes continue to intersect in imaginative and unexpected ways. Unfortunately, much remains uncertain. New pieces added this week only made the overall picture bigger – like individual paintings forming panels of a comic book. Mohinder has left for India. Peter and Isaac still need to identify the cheerleader. Hiro needs to find her. Isaac is in peril. D.L. and Micah are on the run.
Thus far Heroes has brought us six episodes which constantly expands its mystery base and cast of characters which are starting to interact more and more. The standard of creativity is incredibly high and I look forward to next week.
