Heroes Episode 5 – Hiro’s
When the last episode ended, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) had been visited on the subway by Hiro (Masi Oka) where time was standing still. This Hiro was one from the future and spoke perfect English and came with a clear message: “Save the cheerleader. Save the world.” Peter learns that he must return to Isaac (Santiago Cabrera) to discover how.
Since the beginning, the key for Peter and our other heroes are in Issac’s paintings, which he sees as panels in a comic book. For the moment, saving the cheerleader is paramount to the future but as we see in Isaacs paintings, someone is out to get her. We have not heard much from the villainous Sylar, but fingers point his way as the mysterious presence.

As we saw towards the end of last episode intruders in Nathan’s hotel room, (Adrian Pasdar), he is now being escorted somewhere by Horned Rim Glasses and his Haitian sidekick. Things are starting to unravel further as Horned Rim guys curiosity increases. Nathan escapes by exhibiting his flying prowess. We see our two Japanese characters being dumped in the desert after being taken from a Las Vegas casino. They are met by Nathan who is discovered by Hiro who explains he can bend time and knows that Nathan is “flying man”. In the end they both catch a ride back to Vegas with Nathan
Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) wakes up on his sofa thinking he had just one too many drinks. His marital problems turn better as he begins to use his mind reading to his advantage with his wife.
When Nathan returns to his hotel, he again bumps into Niki (Ali Larter). Having paid her debt to Mr. Linderman, she gives Nathan the only help she can by tipping him off about the videotape made of their night together. Returning home, Niki finds more trouble. Police have staked out her house because her ex-husband D.L. Hawkins (Leonard Roberts) has escaped custody. Evidently D.L. is quite the escape artist, and undoubtedly will become a big part of her story.
We see different sides of our characters, not just their supernatural sides. Each hero has real lives and are trying to come to grips with their special gifts.
Claire gets a visit from her father and confesses that something did happen at the bonfire. He then takes care of the situation with his favorite Haitian, who hasn’t spoken a word yet.
Peter ends up at Isaacs and puts his futuristic paintings in order. There is one unfinished painting which holds a key to the story. Peter pleads to that Isaac finish it but he explains he’s out of drugs and can only perform when he’s in his spirit world. Suddenly, as Peter is able to mimic the powers of other special people, he sees the finished product and goes into spirit world.
The episode ends with Peter speaking with Hiro, with a very special message. The end of yet another great episode of Heroes.
