The ranks of NBC’s Heroes have expanded again, with actor Nick D’Agosto taking a recurring part in the show’s second season.

D’Agosto (Election) will play Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) boyfriend in the coming season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Details of D’Agosto’s character are, naturally, being kept close to the vest. However, according to the HR, he will have "a very cool superpower."

The casting also ends a string of bad pilot luck for D’Agosto, who’s appeared in pilots each of the past three seasons (ABC’s Joint Custody in 2005, CBS’ Orpheus in ‘06 and CBS’ The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud this year) — none of which was picked up.

The episode opens with Nathan on the phone with Claires real mother, saying she came for a visit. Nathan being the politician offers a bribe of 100K. Something isn’t quite right at the Bennet household as we now see Mrs. Bennet struggling with some other ailment. Claire is becoming lest trustworthy of HRG. What’s his real name?

Matt Parkman, being on suspension is forced to take on private security jobs. Ironically, his first job is to protect Lindermans shady lawyer (Malsky), the same one who released Niki from prison in the previous episode. While Niki is “free” Jessica is on a killing rampage. Her first target being Malsky.

With the “blessings” of Hiros father to continue his quest, we see Hiro and
Ando in Las Vegas, where they need to find Linderman and get the “magic” sword. They run in to a dancer, bawling her eyes out. You can just see they are about to get conned again. Ando really wants to help while Hiro want to continue his quest. Ando finally puts his foot down, insisting they help. Ando has always been a softie for a pretty face.

Mohinder finds another “special person” all the way out in Virginia Beach. Before he can get there, Sylar makes his appearance and finds out that this latest, now dead hero had the ability to melt things. Just one more handy power to add to his collection.

After a run in with HRG, Claire insists on seeing her mother and gets news that her biological father has made contact.

Malsky is in the process of purchasing some diamonds when Matt hears the salespersons voice, saying something to the tone that it doesn’t matter, this guy is going to die. Matt knows it’s a set up and gets them both out of there. Matt finds out that Malsky stole Lindermans 2 million and now has Jessica on his back. Matt can hear her coming up the elevator and attempts to save Malsky. End result, I doubt we’ll be seeing too much more of Malsky in future episodes.

Mohinder finally arrives in Virginia Beach, only to be greeted by Sylar, who shows him of his latest power. Sylar is amazed to find out that there are others out there and that Mohinder is in search of them. Sylar offers to go along with him to help them understand that they are not alone. I like Sylars thinking.

We see Nathan still has feelings for Claires mother and is somewhat touched when he sees a photo of her. Claire eavesdrops on the entire conversation, hoping Nathan would want to see her.

And you guessed it, Hiro and Ando were conned, again. Parkman has explaining to do and Claire comes home to a split personality mother.

“Distractions” picks up in New York, with Hiro’s quest to save the world sidelined by the appearance of his father (guest star George Takei), while sidekick Ando thinks Hiro’s sister is hot. Still attempting to control his powers, Peter is having doubts about Claude the Invisible Man’s mentorship, but a literal leap of faith may dispel all that. As Peter struggles with his responsibilities, Simone enlists Isaac’s help to find Peter, but Isaac’s paintings keep coming up empty? Sylar has escaped the custody of HRG, and continues his obsession with acquiring Claire’s powers at the Bennet household, where he entertains Mrs. Bennet and intrigues the tastes pallet of Mr. Muggles. As for Claire, she has snuck off with Zach for a reunion with her biological mother (guest star Jessalyn Gilsig.

The reunion between Claire and her mother is as expected, tense in the beginning, kind of awkward. Claire shows her mother how she thinks she survived the fire which she was supposedly killed in. Her mother then shows her powers of her own, being able to start fire. How will Kring write this in future episodes?

Claude the Invisible Man continues to entertain and almost toy with Peter. He goes around New York stealing pretzels, bumping into people and actually enjoys being bitter. He is trying to show Peter how to release the powers he has within. Thus far, Peter thinks he can only mimic powers of others when they are near by, Claude obviously knows otherwise. A striking revelation comes from Horned Rim when he finds our that “Claude really isn’t as dead as we thought he was”. What could this mean? 

An all-around excellent episode, delivering on just about every area with great action, character progression, and most of all, it continues to put the screws on the upcoming nuclear plot. At this point, I’m sure every “Heroes” fan is feeling the same pent up anxiousness that Peter feels about the finale of the Nuke New York first season storyline.

What marks me most are the constant pairings of our heroes in The Fix. Hiro and Ando are in trouble as usual, trying to escape something or someone. With Peter being AWOL we see Mohinder and Nathan in search for him. In actuality, Peter is looking for answers with the invisible man known as Claude (Christopher Eccleston).

A lot of the episode revolves around Peter looking for answers on stopping himself from being the bomb which will wipe out New York City. We do see Nathan becoming more and more concerned, yet still holding reservations as to what his involvement really is.

Zapping towards Odessa, Texas, Claire and Zach are confused teens. We last saw the Haitian who possesses brain clearing powers make a pact with her, but what really happened? HRG is a hidden area in the Primatech Paper Company, where Mr. Bennet is head honcho. After disposing of Eden, Sylar is once again captured and this time looks like under control.

Hiro and Ando are on a quest to reach Las Vegas to find Linderman to recuperate the sword in one of Isaacs paintings. Hiro proudly wears the painting in a tube around his back, like a Samurai would. We see the two lovable Japanese finally get captured by villainous characters. Hiro holds firm, convinced of his destiny. One of his captors, speaking in Japanese, explains that he works for a very important man, one with a lot of power and he wants this nonsense to stop immediately. Right when things start to look really grim for Ando and Hiro, the van door opens. We do see fear on Hiros face as in front stand his father.

“Godsend” had a lot of threads to catch the audience up with, and it certainly spent most of its time doing that. At this point, Tim Kring is probably wondering why he had created so many characters and such disparate storylines for each one. The character who would seem to have the greatest impact on the bomb-in-New York storyline, Peter, doesn’t even open his eyes until with just five minutes left, after which he runs across the oft-reported Claude, played by former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston. The best part about Claude? Kring and company seems to have re-invented how being invisible works; or at least tapped into a part of invisibility that I hadn’t seen before.

As a jump-start from the long holiday, “Godsend” doesn’t really progress the story very much in the overall scheme of things, and serves mostly as a re-introduction to the cast and their present predicament for fans and newcomers. There are some good developments: Simone and a no-longer drugged out Isaac have a touching reunion, and humorously, Nathan the flying man and Hiro the round face kid who can teleport through space-time renews their acquaintance. Their conversation regarding the “villain” of the piece is worth a couple of chuckles — that is, if you hadn’t already seen the scene ad nauseam, including a couple of actor Masi Oka’s late-night TV appearances. The producers really should have kept that under wraps, being the best moment of the entire episode and all. Also of great importance is Mohinder’s encounter with HRG, who shows up in the former’s apartment with a gun.

After a long break, “Godsend” returns with welcome progression in the storyline (Hiro finally locates that sword, Nathan seems to be more ready to accept his role as a man with extraordinary gifts), and even more questions (the oft-mentioned, but never seen Linderman once again makes his presence known). Fans who have been with “Heroes” from the beginning won’t feel as if they’ve learned anything significant (the introduction of Claude not withstanding), but newcomers should get their curiosity sufficiently pique to tune in for future episodes.

Last episode we flashed back six months which revealed many answers to small questions. This week we start up pretty much where episode nine left off. We see Claire having a heart to heart conversation with Horned Rim who tells her he had always known about her powers. She explains that just her brother and Zach also know her capabilities. Horned Rim tells her that no one else can know, explaining that there are others like Sylar out there who want to have her powers.

A surprise visit to a jailed Peter by a surprisingly tender Nathan leads to more questions, while L.A. cop on special FBI mission Matt Parkman arrives in Odessa, Texas hot on Sylar’s trail.

With Sylar now in captivity we see him get on Horned Rim’s nerves when he promises to collect yet another ability, being that of Claire. Remember, Sylar was a watch repairman named Gabriel who “understands how things work”. To understand better, go back to last weeks episode. Horned Rim tells him his special abilities will not work in his captivity. Really?? The cute, innocent looking Eden seems to have a hidden motive, offering to use her persuasive ability and ask Sylar to kill himself.

D.L. and Micah are on the run after evil Niki, better known as Jessica, shoots his shoulder with a high powered rifle. My only criticism here is that if he really was shot with a rifle of that magnitude, half his side would be gone. Hooray for Hollywood I guess.

One cool revelation was seeing Matt and Peter together. As Peter is able to mimic powers of other, it seemed that all Matt picked up were cross signals, vice-versa. Through this, Peter tells them that it’s Claire, not the dead as nails Jackie, that the presumed killer is after and that they should be trying to protect her.

What really are Eden’s motives as we see her hand a sober Isaac a cell phone and business card to call?

We also learned in past episodes that powers of Haitian man. When Claire goes to speak with Zach, it seems as if he’s the latest victim of “mind cleaning”. The same goes for her little brother Lyle who can’t remember a thing.

Isaac, Hiro and Endo meet in the same diner where Charlie was killed. Isaac tells Hiro that the man who cuts off heads, is taken care of. This is key to future episodes as Isaac truly sees now that he and Hiro must save the world. Isaac knows this as in the past he could only predict the future when he was stoned, but just recently he drew images which came true, while he was sober.

It only took eleven episodes, but we now see that Haitian man can speak and in English too. He is there to clear her mind, but he too has a motive and doesn’t do what he is ordered to do by Horned Rim.

Now Hiro really feels like a hero when Isaacs last painting shows Hiro, with a sword in his hand, confronting a dinosaur. Hiro claims he needs to find that sword.

We find out that Eden wants Sylar dead for the killing of Mohinders father. She decides to take matters in to her own hands, but they go terribly wrong. Bad enough so we see yet another heroes appearance on the show come to an abrupt ending.

Our last and final scene shows Peter being released from jail and suddenly fall flat on his face. In what looks like a dream, he is now in the middle of New York and all our heroes are there, running away from Peter. He dreams he is the person in the painting which self destructs.

“Heroes” continued to reach new heights this week, as Chapter 10, “Six Months Ago,” takes us back six months into the past, to where the present storylines for many of the characters began. Not only do we get to see Chandra Suresh (Erick Avari) tracking down Patient Zero, a watch repairman named Gabriel Grey (Zachary Quinto), in order to prove his theories about evolution, it also gives us some unique insights into many of the key players.

In addition to Suresh’s research, audiences are given a glimpse into some life changing moments among the other heroes, including Peter’s graduation from nursing school, the car crash that left Nathan’s wife in a wheelchair, Claire’s admittance into the cheerleading squad, Niki’s one-year sober anniversary, and Matt’s failure on the detective’s exam because of his dyslexia. It is fascinating how each of these moments dovetails into things we already know about the characters in the present day.

The key to the jump back in time, of course, is our pal Hiro. At the end of Chapter 8, he had jumped back in time to save Charlie (the waitress in the Texas diner who ended up dead by Sylar’s hand). Hiro discovers, however, that he has jumped too far, and ended up six months in the past instead of the day before Charlie’s death. This unique situation gives the two a chance to know one another, and as he tries to convince her that he is from the future and that she is in danger, they begin to fall in love. But all of this becomes a hard lesson for Hiro about the limitations of his powers.

Then we have Mr. Bennett, or as he’s affectionately known, Horned Rim Glasses. Horned? Like the devil? Why didn’t I see it before? And note who Mr. Bennett recruits first: a scary dude who doesn’t speak and a woman who named herself Eden, another Biblical reference, and who controls other people with her words. It gives a whole new meaning to, “The devil made me do it.” All of this makes me worry about the consequences of Eden and the Haitian abducting Sylar last week at the end of “Homecoming”.

Nathan destroyed the painting he recuperated from Linderman, for what reason, we must wait to see. Peter is so convinced it is “the” key to a puzzle he questions Simone on its description. She is starting to become a believer and reveals a print photo which Nathan did not know existed. It shows Peter dead in his quest to save the cheerleader, reason why Nathan destroyed the original. Does this really mean that Nathan actually has a heart??

Jackie, Claire’s rival provokes Claire’s patience one too many times and suddenly finds her laying flat on her back as Claire slugs her a good one. For Mr. Bennett, who clearly knows he needs to protect his daughter, this act is good enough to ground her from going to the homecoming game which is where horrible things are supposed to happen, according to Isaacs paintings.

D.L. and Micah finally set things straight, when his son tries to escape so he can return home to his mother. D.L. tries to explain the situation with Niki, only to discover that Micah may know more about her than anyone, claiming he’s seen both sides of his mother in Niki and Jessica.

Mohinder wanders India’s streets in search of the dream boy who he’s seen in his dreams and who’s file was found in his fathers desk. What secret does the boy hold? Mohinder finally finds him and asks why does he enter his dreams. The boy tells him that he doesn’t come to people, they come to him, looking for answers to questions. Mohinder wants to know what path to take and is responded by “you already know the answer”.

Peter after meeting with Endo, who then explains that Hiro has gone back in the past to save Charlie cannot wait any longer and heads towards the high school. Even with the graphic photo in his possession, he doesn’t seem too afraid of his future. Endo explains that Hiro thought that the same person who killed Charlie may be the same person wanting to exterminate the cheerleader as well.

Mohinder cracks the code on his fathers computer and finds a list of names. Are these people future victims of Sylar and how many will we see in upcoming episodes?

Claire decides that she shouldn’t miss homecoming and sneaks out. Horned Rimmed was pretty upset when he found out.

At the high school, a shrine displaying “Jackie’s” heroics are in full view and Peter gets a glimpse of the girl he thinks he needs to save. Moments later though, we finally see the ominous face of Sylar who also sees his next victim. Claire and Jackie find themselves alone in the girls locker room and something just doesn’t seem right. Claire turns around to see Jackie in the process of being murdered. A loud scream alerts Horned Rim and Peter. Sylar quickly realizes he has the wrong girl. At 8:12 pm, time when Peter was to die, we see two bloody bodies; that of Sylar and Peter, lying on the pavement.
Moments later, when Claire finds Peter, Sylar is gone. Peter being able to mimic powers of other heroes quickly heals in the presence of Claire. She then runs off to find help and in to the arms of Horned Rim. She pleads to go back and help Peter, but he insists the police will take care of everything. Again, he is extremely suspicious.

We find out what powers Eden possesses as Sylar runs in to her. She is able to persuade people to do things and demands he go to sleep. Haitian man also comes out of the woodwork and puts Sylar down.

The show ends with Niki’s alter ego taking aim at D.L. with a high powered rifle and Hiro, again with Charlie, six months earlier. This should make for a great new episode.

Many revelations are brought to light in Seven Minutes to Midnight, which kept me glued to my television, even during commercial breaks. It gives us a better clue as to what Horned Rimmed Glasses, Mr. Bennet does. In many ways, he has a clearer picture than anyone else about the future and so we see him multi-tasking in many ways; be it helping out our junkie painter with another dose of heroin or canceling out Matts ability to use his powers. Of course, saving his daughter is a priority, yet once again, there is something very shady about Mr. Bennet.
The episode opens with Mohinder putting his father’s remains in the ocean and being greeted by his mother. On several occasions, Mohinder flashes back to days where he clashes with his father. He also learns that he once had a sister, who died at a very young age. Mohinder constantly has visions of a young boy and stumbles across a file his father had been working on.

We see that Eden, Mohinders friend is with Isaac, in some sort of rehab clinic. We also find out where all Isaacs paintings have gone to. He is in fact hidden in a secret part of Mr. Bennet’s “paper company”.

We finally get to see a clearer vision of Sylar who has been one of the biggest topics of mystery thus far. Hiro and Ando stop in at a diner in Texas, where they meet Charlie, a waitress who finds she has the ability to learn things with relative ease. Once again we see Hiro charming everyone but in Seven Minutes to Midnight, we also learn that heroes can be killed. Sylar waits patiently to make his move and follows Charlie in a storage room, where he slices the top of her head. Hiro, feeling emotions for Charlie and wanting to be a hero, decides he will go back in the past to warn Charlie not to go to work the following day. Things go wrong in his quest, which adds another cool twist.

Why is Sylar searching for and eliminating those who possess special abilities?

Our radioactive friend escapes the custody of the FBI which brings another twist.

The very last scene shows Claire making a homecoming banner while her father mysteriously observes.

Next week seems too far away to await my questions..

Niki has awakened to discover that Micah and D.L. are gone. She confides in Tina (Deirdre Quinn) about her blackouts and her mirror image, whom she calls Jessica. Telling anyone about Jessica her alter ego, is as good as leaving them for dead as she constantly leaves a trail of corpses.

On the run, D.L and Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) race to escape Niki. Micah doesn’t understand what just happened between his mother and father, believing blame is on his father as they are running together. Yet, when D.L. sees an accident on the highway, his instinct is to help. Luckily, he’s not the only one present with special abilities. Hiro and Ando (James Kyson Lee) are right behind, bringing more of our heroes together to share their special abilities.
Lyle (Randall Bentley), who plays Claire’s brother finds the tape that Zach (Thomas Dekker) made. Pretending that you can do anything these days with special effects. He’s not buying the story, runs off, locks himself in the car and starts to freak out. They later come to an agreement to keep her powers a secret.
Matt (Greg Grunberg) has been recruited by Audrey Hanson (Clea DuVall) to assist in another investigation for the FBI when a burn victim has turned up whose body is radiated. A fingerprint leads them Theodore Sprague, the suspected killer. Matt, however, isn’t so sure.
Matt who has found better times with his wife discovers his wife has been having an affair with a fellow investigator when he hears his thoughts.
Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) forever being the politician organizes a lunch with a snoopy press agent, wanting to find and accuse Nathan of things in his past. Nathan uses the opportunity to expose a crippling injury his wife suffered in a car accident. Peter comes over wanting to speak his mind but for some reason plays the part of perfect little brother and happy family member.
Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and Simone (Tawny Cypress) have discovered that Isaac (Santiago Cabrera) has disappeared, with it the painting that Peter has been looking for, the missing piece in Isaac’s “comic book”. Simone confesses that she sold it to a man named Mr. Linderman in Las Vegas. This name has popped up several times in each episode thus far.  Peter, knowing his brother has ties with Linderman pleads for help in getting the painting back. Nathan acquires the painting and destroys it for some reason. He tells Peter he couldn’t help for some reason. There is certainly something being hidden.
We discover another hero named Ted, one who has radioactive powers. In a tense scene, Matt helps calm down our new hero who reads the mind of a bedridden wife who is dying of cancer caused by our new hero. In another twist, Matt reveals to Ted he has been marked with two little marks on his neck. What does this symbolize? Will future episodes reveal the same marks on those who have been captured and or interrogated by Horn Rimmed Glasses?
We also discover Micah has powers of his own, which should only be natural as both his parents hold a secret. He makes a phone call, thinking he’s talking to Niki, when in fact he explains to Jessica exactly where they are.
